And keep an eye for Amy and spartachris at the Atlanta-Chicago game Sunday. We'll be the ones making out.

Welcome back bro & sis. This season is gonna be fun. Once again, I am going to be lazy and copy & paste my picks from your picks. Of course I will change the directions of the arrows on the pics you get wrong. :)

Green Bay > New Orleans
Pittsburgh > Baltimore
Chicago < Atlanta
Cleveland > Cincinnati
Houston > Indianapolis
Tennessee > Jacksonville
Kansas City > Buffalo
Philadelphia > St Louis
Tampa Bay > Detroit
Arizona < Carolina
San Diego > Minnesota
San Francisco > Seattle
NYGiants > Washington
NYJets < Dallas
New England > Miami
Oakland > Denver

I am picking the Cowboys over the Jets, but that is a game that really worries me.

WOO HOO! Lets get it rollin'!

Great job with the site man, looks really slick. Yeah I'm also uneasy about my Bears' chances this weekend, but the Falcs have their issues, and what kind of fan would I be if I didn't go with Chicago on opening day.

No offense to big D, I feel the Jets, at home, are looking like a force to be reckoned with.

Then again week one always looks good on paper, and usually turns out nothing like it.

I hear ya brother. Playing in New York on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 is gonna be am overwhelming experience for both the Cowboys and the Jets.

Thanks for the comments on the redesign. I would like to come up with a logo or something for the top. If you have any ideas, let me know.

The new site looks money, my man. Here's to a good season for Da Bears! I hate the Packers.

Welcome back brother! What's up with all the Cowboy Hatin'?

spartachris said...

Isn't that just tradition?

spartachris said...

Any comments on your team this year BND? I'm late picking up on how most squads are looking but word on the street is Dallas has a few dings already, and the secondary is the biggest concern.

BigNewsDay said...

The Cowboys entire defense is a question mark in my eyes. They did a piss-poor job against the run during preseason, and the secondary is banged up. Newman is out for at least Sunday's game, and Jenkins has been missing practices this week. I'm also very worried about the offensive line. We have like three rookies starting. We may need forth and fifth string QBs. If we can get some protection for Romo, our receivers will destroy other teams.

(oops, 'fourth')

BigNewsDay said...

So, what do you guys think of the new logo?

spartachris said...

Cool. I'll have to take a look around and see if I can come up with anything.

GO BEARS.

Amy said...

Wow that's a lot of cheerleaders!

Blogs looking good. I dig the logo but I'd make it a tad bigger and maybe add a cheerleader.

Looking forward to a new season of frustration and football. Go Bears!

spartachris said...

Yeah we gotta find a way to sneak a cheerleader into the logo.

BigNewsDay said...

How's that?

Oogs said...

I think the 'boys will surprise this year. Demarcus Ware continues to be a beast.

On that note, I hate the Packers.

GO BEARS!

BigNewsDay said...

I think Ware is going to have a great year as well, and also don't care much for the Packers, but they were scary good last night.

Oogs said...

Except for their defense.

Amy said...

Excellent logo!
I'm no packers fan but Rogers is sure fun to watch

spartachris said...

That. Logo. Is. Fin. Awesome.

Nice work man! Now it feels like home.

I gotta imagine the Boys have more luck go their way this season than last. Hoping to make it back to catch some of that game Sunday night.

I hate the Packers. But no avoiding at times they sliced through the Saints with seemingly minimal effort. I still believe the Bears play them tighter. But they're dark days keeping up with a squad like that.

spartachris said...

BEARS.

Great game. Probably the most fun one I've been to.

No voice.

Oogs said...

That's how you play defense against an elite team, cheeseheads. DA BEARS!

spartachris said...

Ho boy. Don't let BND in today.

EEEEEEEEEEP!!!

Sorry, I had to censor myself.

spartachris said...

I listened to the game on the drive back from Chicago and caught what I could at the end. From all angles I thought the Boys pretty much had the Jets in hand.

And if that's the case man I feel your pain. Nothing hits harder than when you outplay the other team and still walk away without the W.

Oogs said...

Dallas should have run away with this game. I don't understand how they always beat themselves. Sucked to see Dez get hurt. It hurt my fantasy team.

spartachris said...

BND (7-9)
Amy (9-7)
spartachris (10-6)
Lefty (10-6)

Ouch! F*****G COWBOYS!!!

So after week 1, what are your first impressions? Who impressed you/disappointed you?

Cam Newton is a monster. I had my doubts about this guy, but I'm now on the bandwagon.

Believe it or not, I was very impressed with Rex Grossman, but we will need to wait and see what Rex shows up next week.

spartachris said...

It's hard to read. I usually get a feeling about 3 or 4 games in. Guys get injured, teams get a fire lit under their ass, things change week to week.

If I had to answer, I was really impressed with the Packers and Bears primarily because I had a chance to really watch both. Green Bay looked like they seriously walked through NO, just throwing and catching like the Saints weren't even on the field. Yeah I hate to ever give a compliment to the Packers, but it's more respect. Rodgers has a zen mentality I can appreciate.

I was very excited about the bears defense. It gives up yardage but the pressure was on up the middle and Atlanta was feeling it all day. It impressed me because in past years the rush had issues getting to the QB against even bad teams. Seeing 5 sacks and even more hits tells me the Bears are getting the right parts in the middle.

I still can't believe what I'm hearing about Rex Grossman. That's why I go back to my statement at the top, things can change in a week. The guy certainly personified that in Chicago. But good on him.

This week should say a little more. Chi at NO, D at SF, SD at NE, Houston at Miami, Philly at Atlanta all look interesting.

Bills offense, that's all I have to say.
