- And at last, after the burning days, the heated battles, the trials of time, the moment of truth has arrived.
- Indianapolis versus Chicago. The Super Bowl. Ken Hawk made an epic quest, enduring directional difficulties, car problems, forced to hitchhike with his wang, having a light bulb crammed up his ass, driving on a flat tire, you name it.
- And Hawk would bask in this glorious moment, if he didn't end up in Miami, Indiana. What a dickbrain.
- That said, this is the end of the Ken Hawk NFL blog. The Hawk is on his way back to the advice column and his music.
- It's been a competitive season and a fun journey covering every moment, dissecting every week and having some laughs along the way. I hope both of the readers enjoyed this as much as I did.
- So lets get down to business one more time, the Colts and the Bears.
- The matchups favor the Bears. The Colts haven't been that dominant, high scoring team they have been in the past two years. Manning and Harrison both have fought through the playoffs, but not without their respective struggles. Still, America loves Peyton. The comeback against New England earned him respect with all of the people who said he could not.
- The cycle continues. The nation follows the better story. The Bears are still that lesser team. The problem is for all the talent that Chicago has, on its offense, its defense, its special teams, its coaching, the emphasis falls on one player.
- I believe the situation gives room for Chicago to prosper. Again they are underestimated, even quickly picked to lose by some. Their defense was steadfast is halting the NFL's No. 1 offense two weeks ago. The offense is balanced enough to put points up on the Indy D. And Chicago's special teams have a sizable advantage in overpowering the Colts coverage.
- Ken takes the Bears. There has been no other team so underestimated, so scrutinized, and yet so adamant, so unbreaking in the face of pressure. This team demands respect, and I believe this is the week they get it all.

Hey, this reader has enjoyed the hell out of Ken's journey through this football season. I don't know about the other reader. I hope we can convince you to come back next year as the Bears attempt to defend their Super Bowl title.
Ken Hawk,
As a loyal reader, I want to personally thank you for your weekly column on this blog. Your analysis, predictions, and insights were truly invaluable and, at times, hilarious! I look forward to next fall when we can do this again.
Now to the Super Bowl. I agree that the matchups favor Da Bears. Furthermore, the media and so-called experts once again favored the "better" story.
Oh boo-hoo, Manning is a hall of fame talent who barely got to the big game...oh the agony! Tony Dungy deserves it more because he got Lovie in the game. Rex Grossman is the worst QB ever...even worse than Cade McNown!
I'm sick of this shit. I watched HBO's NFL weekly broadcast today, and I really liked how Thomas Jones' little bro from BND's boys broke down the matchup and picked the Bears. Why don't more people see the Bear's advantage in this game? Urlacher, Hester, Briggs, Davis, Berrian, Kreutz, and yes, Grossman (I think he'll have a great game).
Many people in Chicago think the Bears will blowout the Colts. I happen to be one of them. Don't get me wrong, we're not just wishful thinkers. Some well-known sports guys like Mike North on 670 AM think this will be another Bears-Saints game. We'll see.
My heart tells me to pick the Bears. My brain also tells me to pick the Bears. So there you have it...
Bears 34 Colts 20
Bears TD's - Berrian, Hester, Jones, Benson
GO BEARS!
BND, you're a good man! I hope your Cowboys get a wonderful coach...Singletary? Ron Rivera? The Bear's blood!
Hey thanks man. ITs a busy year ahead, with a lot of goals I have to achieve, and I'll try and keep up with as much as possible.
Note with the blog: no disrespect to the Indy team. I took the Colts to win the Super Bowl at the beginning of the year, and why not, they're a hell of a team and just as much an underdog as the Bears as far as the scope of the football nation has viewed them.
And I think they will be prepared for the Bears. However I believe the matchups lean towards the Bears, and a lot of folks see this but are afraid to take Chicago to win it all.
I see this team coming out in a hell of a fight.
Hey thanks Lefty, the blog has come aways, and I'll miss it, but I hope to keep that Ken Hawk humor going in the advice column, and there may be something new on the way.
Grossman the worst quarterback ever had to be one of the dumbest things I heard all week. This is just ignorance talking. Sure he has had some dumbshit games, but he has had some fine performances and 2 PLAYOFF WINS. Enough is enough already, we wanted the best for our team during the season, but this is the playoffs, and all you can do now is root for your team.
One thing that makes me nervous is the no huddle offense, but I think the Bears are up to the challenge. If anything, all the pressure is on the Coltrs really, because they're "supposed" to win.
Looking forward to this.
The Colts have the utmost pressure in this game. They're regarded as a guarantee winner. So the pressure is on Manning, the guy who has had a hard time winning big games in his career.
And all of the analysts who are pointing out " the bears complain about being underdogs this year but have actually only been underdogs two or three times". Bullshit
Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit. Who was the underdog in the Saints game. The odds had Chicago by 2 points, but the Saints sure as HELL were not the underdog.
This team has been dissed all fucking season, period. Week in and out, it was the quarterback controversy and how Rex will throw the fucking game away.
Sports writers have been poking this nest with a stick since week 6 and they fucking know it.
The big day. Good luck to both teams, looking forward to a hell of a game.
Only 1 hour and 10 minutes from kickoff! I'm very excited. Good luck to both teams, and GO BEARS!!!
HESTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Bears fucked it all up! They played awful, except for Hester, of course. The Colts didn't play much better, but they made the plays when they needed to. Good job and Congrats to Tony Dungy.
That was an ugly game all around. Neither team played like a Super Bowl team. The Bears stayed in the game until Grossman forgot which team he was supposed to throw the ball to, but hopefully my 'Boys can get a decent coach and make a run next year.
So the sun sets on the year. I got to say its been a wild season, and the better team won it all, but there's no shame in 15-4 when a team can go 2-14. This is a great team.
Wearing one of my Bears shirts today. One game doesn't change it. Go Bears!!!!
